If you were present on May 1, 2007, in or around the MacArthur Park area at any point between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., did not engage in any conduct justifying Defendants' dispersal order or the use of force, and were subjected to the Los Angeles Police Department's use of force, dispersal order or other unlawful police activity arising from the police response to the immigration march and rally, you may be entitled to MONEY as a CLASS MEMBER.

The claim filing deadline was on May 27, 2009. The final approval hearing was on June 22, 2009 at which time the case was approved. The court has ruled that no claims postmarked later than May 27, 2009, will be paid, even if the claimant did not know of the lawsuit in time. If you did not file a claim by then, any claim will be ignored.

Status Update for Settlement
December 28, 2009

Currently there is a delay in making settlement payments to the class due to the fact that the Court has to make a decision on how to handle a group of claims that were submitted without a description of events.

Payment can not begin until it is determined how the claims in question are to be handled as the number of claims approved for payment affects the amount of money each person will collect on their claim.

Please check back for any further update on the status of the case at the end of January.
